Strategic Intervention

The Current Landscape

Nebraskans are advertised for sexual services each month

%

of Nebraska’s commercial sex workers are at risk of being trafficked

%

of Nebraska service providers don’t have trained support for sexually exploited women

Disrupting the Cycle. Empowering Freedom.

Each element of our strategy targets a specific aspect of the trafficking cycle to end injustice and empower freedom.

Prevention

Traffickers exploit the circumstantial vulnerabilities that women face.

Helping a woman acquire food, clothing, transportation, hygiene products and basic needs for herself and her children is a strategic intervention that helps prevent trafficking.

Stabilization

We help women create personalized Safety and Crisis Stabilization plans.

We provide immediate shelter through our Safe House, which is formatted to care specifically for women who have been exploited. Then we connect the woman to multiple layers of support at the Resource Center.

Recovery

Once a woman is safe, we help her pursue deeper layers of healing.

Healing can look very different for each woman. For some, this may include a transition into a long-term recovery program. For others, it could look like trauma therapy or support groups. This process is led by each woman’s needs.
