Tom Nesbitt

Board Member

Tom has over 30 years of meritorious law enforcement and public safety experience achieving the rank of Colonel as the Superintendent of Law Enforcement and Public Safety for the State of Nebraska. Tom commanded the Nebraska State Patrol and also served as the Canton Ohio Public Safety Director.

He is the Founder and CEO of two thriving Lincoln-based companies. During his tenure with the State Patrol, Tom put together the state’s first Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, as well as implementing programming for victims of domestic violence. He has board experience on several successful Nebraska non-profits.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys spoiling his grandkids, hunting, fishing, and golfing.

Greg Carlson

Board Member

Greg has worked in the construction industry in Lincoln, NE for 30+ years and has owned his family-run business, Carlson Projects, for 25 years. Greg thrives when he is solving a problem and he loves a challenge. This is what propelled him to start his own business after working in other companies.

He has experience serving as a deacon for Lincoln Berean Church, volunteering in youth ministry, and participating as a board member for other non-profits such as The Bay.

He lives and breathes legacy over currency and enjoys spoiling his grandchildren and grand-dogs in his spare time.

Dr. Ronald Hampton

Board Member

Ron is an emeriti faculty member of the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He was the former Director of Executive Education and Chair of the Marketing Department at UNL. His specialty is international marketing and marketing leadership.

Ron is an experienced researcher and has been published in various journals. His research has been investigating the extent of human trafficking in Ukraine and resulted in one of the first studies on the magnitude of the problem in the countries of Belarus, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine. He most recently conducted similar research for the state of Nebraska and the Governor’s Task Force in fighting human trafficking.

Brooke Carlson

Founder & Executive Director

Brooke has worked with over 100 different trafficking victims in different aspects of the anti-trafficking movement for over 6 years in Nebraska. She has received training in prevention, outreach, crisis intervention, aftercare, and victim services all over the world. Her heart is to call out the identity of every person working in the commercial sex industry and to create an environment of empowerment that serves those around her.

When she’s not working, Brooke enjoys designing houses and finding cool old stuff with her husband.
